After a mini-hiatus, I will be returning to the studio on sunday to finish What I dont Have. A track that has received some good feedback, and will be a pleasure to sing live. Im just getting used to being in a studio and singing with a live beat, as opposed to the music in my head. Its something that is going to need some getting used to. I still feel this apprehension when Im singing in the studio. That distracting feeling that you know you are being recorded and all your fuckups will be heard with crystal clarity. It takes a little out of my performance and I hope I will be able to sing the song with more feeling when I perform live. Its hard to explain. Hopefully, someone, anyone knows what Im talking about.
Im also going to begin working on a new song this Sunday. Im trying to choose which that might be. Since I started off with a relatively slow song. I wanted to pick things up this time around. My producer said it best: Let's fuckin' rock out on the next song Antonio... He articulates things so well!
Im thinking of working on the song that will open up the EP, but dont know if the song I am leaning towards has the punch to draw people in. The song would be a cross between Hole's Doll Parts with some Shinedown/Zeppelin influences in the chorus. Im also considering fleshing out this song I only started to work out, its definitely influenced by NIN and sounds like it could have been a B-side off of Downward Spiral. It would be an awesome track to start the EP off, but hasnt matured in my mind as much as other tracks. So, unless it gorws legs in the next few days. It may have to lay in its basinet for a few... wish me luck friends...
